Top Ten Firefighters
The top ten firefighter awards go out to firefighters who have attended the most fire calls throughout the year. Year, after year, with dedicated firefighters, we have more than ten firefighters who qualify for this award due to many ties in the number of calls attended.

911 Addresses
The 3-G Volunteer Fire Company would like to remind everyone to place their 911 house numbers in a visible location, preferably near the road. These signs should also be reflective for first responders attempting to locate your residence at night. Every second counts when it comes to emergency situations. You can help us out by placing these numbers so we can make sure we save those precious seconds.

Amanda’s Law
Amanda’s Law mandates the installation of carbon monoxide (CO) detectors in all homes in New York State. The law is named for 16-year old Amanda Hansen of West Seneca, New York, who died on January 17, 2009, due to a carbon monoxide leak from a defective boiler while she was sleeping over at a friend’s house.
Under Amanda’s Law, all homes built before January 1, 2008, are permitted to have battery-powered CO detectors, while homes built after this date (1/1/08) are required to have the alarms hard wired into the building. Previously, only homes built after July 30, 2002 were required to have these devices installed. Additionally, Amanda’s Law will require contractors in New York State to install CO detectors when replacing a hot water tank or furnace if the home is not already equipped with a detector.Source
